Diagnostics

When it comes to heart health, nothing is more important than catching an issue before it becomes a serious problem. At the Heart Rhythm Institute of Arizona, we employ a full suite of diagnostic tools and procedures to precisely identify your risk factors, heart problems, and prognosis for a variety of conditions.

Preventive care, even for otherwise healthy individuals, is essential for ensuring your heart endures both daily stress and moments of exertion. Dr. John Beshai uses these diagnostic tests to protect your heart now and in the future.

An athlete physical is an examination to determine if you are healthy enough to participate in sports and other strenuous activities. During an athlete physical, Dr. Beshai will discuss cardiac symptoms and take an ECG to measure the activity of the heart.

A cardiac ultrasound, also called an echocardiogram or echo, is a test that takes pictures of the heart. This allows Dr. Beshai to see the movement and function of the heart and determine where the irregular activity is coming from.

ECG

An ECG is a test to measure the electrical activity of the heart, including the speed and strength of the heartbeat. Dr. Beshai uses the ECG to detect certain symptoms like an irregular heartbeat and the conditions that might be causing it.

An exercise stress test involves ECG monitoring to see how the heart handles physical activity. Dr. Beshai uses the stress test as a diagnostic tool to detect irregularities and determine how much exercise a patient’s heart can handle.

Holter monitoring involves a portable device that measures the heart’s activity for an extended period of time. Dr. Beshai offers Holter monitoring to detect irregularities in the heart’s activity.
